EXPLORE 2025 Professional Development Programme 

The EXPLORE programme is delivered in partnership between YMa|Artis and associate organisation   Ransack Dance Company. The programme involves skills sharing and training across community dance and dance performance practices, training our staff to work between our two organisations. Each year we will invite 3 independent artists into the programme who would like to up-skill in these areas.


We are always excited to link EXPLORE to our wider summer dance programme ‘Gyda’n Gilydd’ (Together), which will see the dance artists performing at our end of project sharing, alongside four other community dance groups who have worked with Ransack throughout the summer term. 


This is a paid training opportunity. 

Successful applicants will take part in the following:


  • Shadowing opportunities through YMa|Artis community dance programme Sessions will be arranged in relation to your availability. 


  • Three Training and Professional Development Days to expand knowledge in community dance practice and professional production practice. They will take place Monday 9th June, Wednesday July 9th and Thursday July 10th. 


  • Participating in an open Research and Development rehearsal week led by the Director and dancers of Ransack Dance Company exploring their creative practice and methodologies and helping to develop ideas for a brand new professional dance work. A work-in-progress performance will then be shared at our ‘Gyda’n Gilydd’ end of project sharing night. This will take place 14th - 18th July (rehearsals) and 25th July (show)


  • Mentoring throughout the project with Ransack’s Artistic Director and the YMa|Artis Development Officer. 


Key Project Dates: 9th June 9.30 - 5pm, 

  9th & 10th July 10 - 5pm,  

  14 - 18th July 9 - 5pm

  25th July - Day and Evening 


Closing Date 5pm Wednesday 7th May 2025


Interview date Week of 12th May 2025  (via Zoom) 


Fee:  £25 per hour(shadowing) 

£160 per day(training days x 3 and performance day x 1) 

Weekly rate of £601 (R&D). 

(Travel expenses paid at 40p per mile)
